IMHX 2022 is an essential fixture in our calendar, and we're looking forward to exhibiting in September this year (6th-8th). Why? Our product development team works hard to deliver the right products for the sector, so live feedback at the event is vital for our design process.
As exhibitors, we were delighted to chat with the IMHX 2022 organisers sharing our thoughts about the industry, new products, sustainability and a host of other topics. Here is a summary of the chat with Robin Seymour (CEO 51T Charging Solutions)
Industry Outlook
The pace of transformation in the past year has certainly kept us on our toes. Those in and outside of the industry have seen first-hand the fragility of supply chains. As a result, we should expect more government-led action to address some of the industry's challenges. And for those at the coalface of logistics, I hope to see more innovative solutions to tackle labour shortage, sustainability and warehouse space challenges.
New Product Launches
Of course, we all have to play our part in building resilience in the supply chain, and 51T is no exception. Our Smart Charging Cabinet, for example, was ahead of its time (launched in 2019); the multi-device charging station is a tech-inspired solution for advanced asset control and management. Unlike competitive products, the Smart Cabinet is suitable for use in any rugged environment. In addition, it offers the highest level of security in the market and only needs a single three-pin plug for power. We have continued to develop the product, and we are planning to launch some exciting new features in 2022.
Sustainability
I expect the adoption of automation to accelerate, and as a consequence, data will grow to play a more significant role in the sector. However, leaders in the industry need to ensure that we do not leave people behind in embracing automation. Furthermore, business leaders need to ensure that their teams have the resources to cope with the new challenges ahead.
Emerging Trends
Over the past year, we've been keeping a keen eye on sustainability discussions. Our products already offer the most extended warranty in the market (minimum three years, with most products extendable to 5 years), and our failure rate is just under 1%. But we believe we can do more, and in 2022 we will be looking to introduce more recyclable plastics in our products. We've also set up an e-waste management group on Linkedin with a specific focus on enterprise electronic waste management centred around the UK and Europe. E-waste affects every business, large or small. We all have devices in our pockets, in our offices and warehouses - there are actions we can all take today to help reduce our carbon footprint and keep the 1.5c goal alive. I hope our peers in the sector will join our community and contribute (search for 'Official e-waste management group' via Linkedin to join us).
Why is exhibiting IMHX important for your business in 2022
Duncan Dampier, 51T International Accounts Manager, has led our presence at IMHX for several years, and he says.
“Of course, we’ve had to adapt to virtual meet-ups, but nothing beats the feeling of meeting someone in real life. But I’ve also missed not seeing my competitors, we’re a friendly bunch in this sector, and events like IMHX give us a chance to cheekily check out what we’re all up to.”
Following all the past disruptions, IMHX 2022 is a fantastic opportunity for us to get together and design a better future. So we hope to see you there.
